Happy Birthday HELMUT NEWTON FOUNDATION!

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Newton Foundation has just opened an exhibition exploring the relationship between Helmut Newton and his native Berlin. While the first exhibition rooms focus on Newton's famous and rare images of Berlin from the 1930s to 2000, the other exhibition rooms recontextualize Berlin's turbulent history during the same period.

We are delighted to have contributed to this original group exhibition with the loan of a selection of historical photographs from the Collection De Gambs by five different authors:

Jewgeni Chaldej, F.C. Gundlach, Will McBride, Harf Zimmermann and Günter Zint

Through their iconic images, these photographers have made a major contribution to shaping the image of Berlin throughout history.
